Guerilla Marketing

For sure a must read for anyone who owns a business, wants to own a business, is interested in marketing, has a career in marketing, ect. It talks about every aspect of marketing that i can think of and way more than i would have thought of before reading it. E-media marketing, maximedia marketing, non media marketing, human media marketing, and more. it also gives you all the need to know facts and perspectives. such as having a picture on an ad increases its effectiveness by 27%, coupons increase it by 26% having a vague headline makes it 11% less effective. it gives you all the most persuasive words such as guarantee, safety, YOU, love, money, easy, and discovery just to name a few. it also goes into depth on pop (point of purchase) advertising because 70% of purchases are made in the store. i really loved this book and i feel like i got way more out of it than any other business related book i've ever read, and i've read a few...

total money makeover

so i'm reading a book right now called "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. i am almost finished with it. This guy totally takes you through a realistic approach to being debt free and accumulating wealth. it is not a get rich quick scheme book. On the contrary it is all basically common sense. He basically just tells you how to put common sense into action and breaks down a lot of myths related to finances. He also adds good percentages of where your money should be going. the very first thing he tells you to do, even before paying off a dime of debt is save $1,000 as an emergency fund. then you design and stick to a budget. You begin to go all out attacking your debt. He also talks about the problems with interest and how if you could make do for a few years and save money then you could by your house in cash and ultimately pay under half or a third of what you would have paid after interest. places like sears he says make more money on interest than on their actual products. I would recommend this book to anyone, in debt or not, because everyone will deal with money in their life and this is a good, easy to understand, common sense, realistic book about finances.

My Blog

I decided to create a blog, the fact that you are reading this speaks for that much, that talked about the books I have read, am reading, or want to read. I mostly only read Christian related books, but i have definitely read some worth talking about. Probably my all time favorite book, not counting the bible obviously, is "The Heavenly Man" written by brother Yun. http://theheavenlyman.com/ you can get 2 copies for like $14. The book is a true story mostly written by brother Yun but it has parts written by his wife and other leaders in the chinese church movement. Throughout the book he goes through supernatural healing that is unreal, goes on a 75 day complete fast, was the first and only to escape from a particular maximum security prison, and leads a ton of people to the Lord. throughout all the incredible things God uses him to do he is still humble and talks about his weakness and when he did not obey God's word. I would defenitely recommend giving it a read.
